The Principal's Corner

Dear Shark Family,
A new year, and we are already well on our way! As I am sure you are aware, we are gearing up for the FCAT assessment which is held in two sections. The FCAT Writes portion for all 10th grade students will be held on February 9. The rest will be administered during the week of March 9th. All of the testing dates are posted on the website. Passing this test is a graduation requirement, so we do everything possible to make sure your child does well. Students have already been contacted if we feel your child could benefit from additional tutoring during the school day. Grades 9, 10 and grade 11 students are involved in the FCAT testing.
If your child is a senior, there will be information shared concerning graduation. We will also post it to the website. Be sure to contact our Guidance Department for scholarship information. Also, if your child did not do well first semester, please call and ask about the credit lab so that lost credit is made up immediately.
Our students have done an excellent job reaching out to collect supplies for Haiti. They continue to be passionate with their generosity and concern for others.
As always, I appreciate all of your support and dedication to keep Spanish River the #1 Comprehensive High School in Palm Beach County. You are simply the best!
Fondly,
Dr. Susan Atherley |
