City of Delray Beach Deputy Vice-Mayor Adam Frankel, Elizabeth Wesley, founder of the Roots Cultural Festival organization, and Timolin and Casey Cole, the twin daughters of the late Nat King Cole and founders of the Nat King Cole Generation Hope, Inc. Foundation, presented a variety of musical instruments to the students and faculty of Plumosa School of the Arts on Thursday, October 15, 2009.
Deputy Vice-Mayor Frankel, who was “instrumental” in bringing these two local non-profits together, saw an opportunity for the children within Delray Beach to experience arts and music. Through this new partnership and the generous donation of various band instruments (including drums, clarinets, horns, tubas, etc.) by the Roots Cultural Festival organization, the Nat King Cole Generation Hope Foundation has committed to promote music education to those children (of all ages, ethnic backgrounds and diversities) in Delray Beach with the greatest need and fewest resources.
