Agenda Item #35
PL1 Palm Beach County Mutual Aid Agreement
Chapter 23, Florida Statutes, provides that law enforcement agencies may enter into Mutual Aid Agreements that provide guidelines for obtaining assistance with problems that cross jurisdictional lines. The attached Mutual Aid Agreement is for all law enforcement agencies in Palm Beach County and an integral aid in our effort to maintain public peace and safety on our campuses and at School District activities.
The School Board entered into similar Mutual Aid Agreements on December 1, 1993, on May 7, 1997, on January 31, 2001, and on January 19, 2005. This new Agreement will sunset on January 31, 2013.
This Agreement has been reviewed and is supported by the Palm Beach County Police Chiefs through the Palm Beach County Association of Chiefs of Police, Inc
I recommend the School Board consider approval of the Agreement between all Palm Beach County Law Enforcement Agencies.
Joseph M. Moore, James P. Kelly (e-mail: Jim Kelly (Chief of Police))
There is no financial impact to the School District.
