Agenda Item #17 Title AC1 - Barton Elementary/For The Children, Inc. Memorandum of Understanding Description This Memorandum of Understanding provides a document for implementation of the partnership between Barton Elementary and For The Children, Inc. in the delivery of afterschool programming services to the Barton student population. It provides details regarding the utilization of facilities, and provides a protocol for the management of the program impact on the school center. The agreement outlines general provisions, funding, use of properties, maintenance, access and site security, liability, background screening requirements, licensing, etc. The term of this agreement shall be for a period of one (1) year with review of goals and implementation to determine direction for future work. Recommendation CHAIRMAN READS: Good cause exists for adding this item to the agenda. It is necessary to enter into this MOU in order to ensure that the students at Barton Elementary will have youth development activities before and after school, commencing August 15, 2011. The youth development program positions youth to learn and develop skills necessary for successful lives. SUPERINTENDENT READS: I recommend that the School Board approve the Barton Elementary/For The Children, Inc. Memorandum of Understanding effective August 11, 2011 through June 30, 2012 and authorize the Superintendent or designee to sign all required documents and contracts related to the agreement.
