51. Superintendent's Report:

Minutes: Mr. Malone thanked everyone for their good wishes and hundreds of messages he has received after announcing his retirement.  He announced that the District received 100% Class Size Compliance and thanked staff for all their hard work.
52. Board Agreement to Select an Interim Superintendent and the Qualifications for that Position

Minutes:

Board Members and Mr. Malone discussed the following issues: a current employee moving into interim position - what happens to their position; consider opening this process to current and former administrators; demands of the position will prohibit a current employee from doing their job; involvement of Human Resources; leadership team being competent; keep things moving exactly as they are now; Ann Killets; Dr. MaryAnn DuPont; keeping the process transparent; true national search for the permanent Superintendent position; community concerned with keeping the system stable; and need for a caretaker Superintendent.

At the request of the Board, Mr. Malone explained his reasoning for his recommendation.

For the Record: Mr. Barbieri stated that he will not vote for anyone outside the District for the Interim Superintendent position.

I recommend approval of the Interim Superintendent Selection Process as described above.
