CP-2 North Palm Beach Elementary School Modernization Construction Management at Risk First Amendment
Construction Management @ Risk Services required for the Phase I Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) with James B. Pirtle Construction Company d/b/a Pirtle Construction Company. Phase I services consist of Demolition and Site Clearing. All existing buildings will be demolished with the exception of Buildings #8 and #9. Buildings #8 and #9 are existing 1-story classroom buildings. These two buildings will be remodeled to accommodate the educational program and will be incorporated into the overall school design. The demolition scope will also include removal of all existing underground utilities (water, sanitary, storm, electric, systems, etc.), as well as removal and/or on-site relocation of existing trees.
The completed Project shall be constructed to achieve Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver Certification, all requirements set forth in the permitted Construction Documents, Educational Specifications, Florida Building Code, Florida Accessibility Codes, District Master Specifications, Design Criteria and all other applicable specifications. Construction shall be in accordance with the Educational Specifications approved by the Board on January 18, 2012.

Small Business Enterprise (SBE) Participation: School Board Policy 6.143 allows for SBE Participation goals and that firms awarded work on such projects fully participate in the SBE program. The Contract as a result of this RFP establishes SBE goals.

I recommend the School Board approve the First Amendment to the Construction Management at Risk Agreement to establish the Phase I Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) in the amount of $699,452.00 with James B. Pirtle Construction Company, Inc. d/b/a Pirtle Construction Company and authorize the Superintendent and Board Chairman to finalize and sign all required documents for the Phase I GMP for North Palm Beach Elementary School Modernization, Project No: 0131-7503.
