Adjourn
56. Time 6:20 p.m.

Minutes: Chairman Shaw asked the Board to discuss the General Counsel timeline.  Mr. Murgio does not have a problem with timeline.  Chairman Shaw suggested another week in May/June in case we needed to postpone anything.  Also suggested to have one on one interview with candidates first. Ms. Brill reminded everyone that this is the 3rd time in less than 4 years recruting is taking place for same position.  If caliber required for position is not there then would like calendar pushed and use Deputy Counsel in the meantime until right candidates come in. Ms. Andrews did not have any concerns but as results come in would like opportunity to re-advertise.  Mr. Murgio would also rather re-advertise if needed. Chairman Shaw reminded everyone that advetisement was placed due to time constraint.  Dr. Robinson does not have problem with timeline, would rather have questionnaire. also gave name of two additional organizations to send advertisement.  Would like to add experience working with Elected Board to the Job Description.  Mr. Murgio asked for confirmation of day to schedule the Board Open Discussion Meeting.  Dr. Robinson prefers 2nd Tuesday of month.  Ms. Brown is ok with either Tuesday or Wednesday but does want them started already.  Ms. Brill informed that Legislature may address class size and would like information of impact on Sunset Palms and have definitive answer as well as number of students leaving to Charter Schools.  Mr. Barbieri informed that parents may seem to have different numbers than us and would like verification of such.  Superintendent Gent asked for confirmation of which day to have the Open Board Discussion Meeting and all Board Members agreed on Tuesday.  Ap;ril 9th was agreed by all.  Dr. Robinson stressed that these meetings need to start and sometimes not all Board Members will be present.
