Minutes: Dr. Johnson briefly outlined the history of Academics in Palm Beach County and introduced Ann Killets who presented the Academic Business Plan as attached.

Board Members asked questions regarding the following issues: implementation levels (Lynch); funding (Lynch); CAO/COO operation in the high schools (Lynch); time-task calendar for guidance counselors (Burdick); graduation time-line (Burdick); notification to parents regarding graduation time-line for their child (Burdick); outcome of Read 180 (Burdick); and curriculum audit (Robinson).

Dr. Johnson provided a Read 180 update to answer Dr. Robinson's questions.

Discussion continued regarding: focus on high achievers (Richmond); Area Superintendent's responsibility and structure (Richmond); support for technology (Richmond).

Mrs. Burdick requested Alternative Education and Career Academies workshops. Dr. Johnson stated they will be forthcoming.
