Description: The Palm Beach County Literacy Coalition sponsors an annual essay writing contest for the purpose of encouraging and affirming writing skills in adult students. The Adult Education Center has the largest number of participants each year in the essay contest. Adult Education Center students Frantz Innocent and Angela Torres will be recognized for their winning essays.
The Adult Education Center provides the opportunity for adult students and out-of-school youth, 16 years of age and older, who do not have a high school diploma, or adults of limited English proficiency, to gain the essential knowledge and skills necessary to live in our technological, information-based society, to obtain employment, and to be responsible citizens. Serving 6,000 students each year, the center has morning, afternoon and evening classes with open enrollment year round. There are three sessions, beginning at 8:00 AM and ending at 9:00 PM.
