Title: T-2 Consider Transfer of School Bus to Charter School Recommendation:
I recommend that the School Board authorize the Superintendent to transfer one (1) 65-passenger school bus to G-STAR School of the Arts for Motion Pictures and Broadcasting Charter School.
Description:
- Florida Statute 274.05 allows disposal of surplus property in a manner consistent with the best interest of the District.
- Pursuant to Floirda's Charter Schools law, all surplus property shall be provided for a charter school's use on the same basis as is made available in the District.
- The G-STAR School of the arts for Motion Pictures and Broadcasting Charter School is transporting Palm Beach County District students to and from school.
- Prior to the execution of this transfer, G-STAR School of the Arts for Motion Pictures and Broad-casting Charter School will be required to sign a vehicle transfer agreement. Appropriate liens will be filed with the State of Florida DMV.
- Property records of the transferred vehicles will be retired to the inactive file.
- Written request for surplus bus is attached.
Financial Impact:
Transfer of a surplus bus that would sell for approximately $5,000. to $6,000.
