*Students have the opportunity to participate in diverse after school clubs such as Odyssey of the Mind, FIRST Lego League, Math Club, Chess Club, and many more. Our Odyssey of the Mind teams placed #1 in the World Finals in 2007 and 2008.

*Poinciana offers SECME (aka Mad Panda Society), an engineering club, to students in grades 3-5. The students can continue with SECME through their academic careers where they have the opportunity to earn scholarships. The students design and build mousetrap-cars, bridges, and water rockets, and then compete in district and state competitions. The main focus of SECME is engineering, but they also offer essay, poetry and brain bowl competitions.

*Students from all grade levels participate in the creation of a Black History Museum in honor of Black History Month in February.

*We offer many special guest lecture programs.

*Poinciana has been recognized as a School of Distinction by the Magnet Schools of America.
