The excitement in second grade never seems to stop. The students are starting to experience more independency this year and by the time they leave second grade they are more responsible ready for the FCAT.

We focus a lot of our attention in Literacy. The students spend most of their morning in a literacy block, which consists of centers and guided reading/writing. This gives the teacher a chance to work one-on-one or in small groups. It our goal that the student will be reading at level 550 by the time he/she leaves second grade In math, the students work hard on memorizing their addition and subtraction facts so they can build on their math skills. The Spanish and English teachers work together to help support the students master all the benchmarks.
