Basic GED Information Read about the actual GED test and what is required to sit for the test. Basic GED Information in English Información Básica de GED en Español Total Testing Time Total testing time allowed is seven hours and five minutes. Individuals taking the tests must arrive no later than the check-in time included with the GED Testing Schedule. Preparing For The GED Test It is recommended that adults wishing to take the GED tests take advantage of the preparation programs provided at no cost to the student. The Official GED Practice Test is also available at each center listed. Individuals needing to retake one or more of the subtests are urged to consider enrolling in a preparation program. Age Wavier Request Checklist Students, ages 16 and 17, must complete and notarize an Age Waiver Application. Copy of student's official withdrawal from high school This form may be obtained from guidance office. Copy of student's scores from the Official GED Practice Test. A total score must be a minimum of 2500 with a minimum score of 500 on each sub-test. Letter written by student and notarized with reason for the age waiver request. Letter written by parent and notarized granting permission to take the GED Test and if necessary, stating reason for the age waiver. Documentation of reason checked. Individuals may register for the GED Tests at the locations listed. Please call to find out days and time registrations are taken. All candidates must complete a GED Testing Application and pay the testing fee at time of registration Scoring The GED Exam The GED Exam is graded on a standard scale score. The maximum score on each of the five (5) sections is 800. A minimum of 410 must be scored on each of the five (5) sections of the exam to pass but there must be an average of 450 on all five (5) sections to receive the Florida High School Diploma. A total of 2250 points is needed to pass the exam but you may not have a score lower that 410 on each of the five (5) sections. |
